Nutritionist recommends three weight loss snacks that she tells clients to eat - Daily Record

A nutritionist has shared her go to slimming snacks that she always recommends to clients.

Some crash diets will advise against snacking, but it's actually necessary to keep energy levels up through the day. However, you must be munching on the right things to reap the benefits.

With so much information out there on how to slim down, the process can become overwhelming. To simplify things, a health influencer took to social media to share what snacks slimmers should eat - ones that are packed with protein and fibre.

Emily English told her 323,000 TikTok followers that the combination of food packed with protein and fibre keeps you full between meals. She also notes how important it is to include nutrient dense fresh produce, reports Bristol Live.

Known as @emthenutritionist, she explained: "It's also really important that we think of our micronutrients quantity so I'm including lots of lovely fresh fruits and veg in the snack that will help you hit all of those targets."

Her first snack was Ryvita protein crisp bread with cottage cheese (or vegan cheese) and avocado. The next dish was strained yoghurt with jumbo oats, chia seeds and frozen berries - and the final super snack was boiled eggs with red pepper crudités and lemon.

Her followers quizzed the expert on whether raw oats were 'nice'. She replied: "Surprisingly yes. But go for jumbo ones! Especially with the yogurt, give it a try."

When it comes to snacking, diet guru Michael Mosely has also shared his favourite food - and just like Emily's choices, it's filled with protein. Speaking on his BBC Sounds, Just One Thing, the health expert said eating nuts can help people looking to slim down.

He said: "It is mid-afternoon and I am craving some chocolate or perhaps a biscuit, but instead I am going for a protein-packed snack that can protect my heart, may stave off cancer, and give my brain a boost."
