No gatekeeping here! Every year, we ask our vast community of Yelpers to share their favorite restaurants, and today, we are excited to share Canada’s Top 100 Places to Eat in 2024. From local family-friendly faves to high-end dining, our ninth annual list features options for any foodie’s taste or preference.
This year’s top spot goes to Chen Chen’s Nashville Hot Chicken in Toronto, known for serving up Nashville hot chicken and traditional southern sides with an Asian flair. The Yelp community loves their tenders, fries and sides, but it’s the unique Szechuan spicy chicken sandwich that has reviewers raving.
The list also includes several returning favorites such as Buvette Scott (no. 2), Grandma Loves You (no. 4) and last year’s number one eatery The Northern Cafe and Grill (no.14).
Toronto is the most represented city this year with 20 restaurants, coming in ahead of Montreal with 14 and Vancouver with 11. Some of the top Toronto spots include New Orleans Seafood & Steakhouse (no. 5), Zeal Burgers (no. 19) and Momo Hut & Gardens (no. 25).
Breakfast and brunch are trending among this year’s Canadian crowd, with ten spots on the list falling in the breakfast and brunch categories on Yelp. Beloved restaurants for breakfast on this year’s list include The Diner House 29 (no. 20), Clementine (no. 39) and L’Avenue, (no. 100) which boasts over 1,000 reviews. Other popular cuisines represented include Middle Eastern with seven restaurants and Indian with five.

Methodology: To determine Yelp’s Top 100 Places to Eat in 2024, Yelp’s data science team starts by using the data generated from our community submissions. From the candidate restaurants, we narrow the list down with the expertise of our community managers and Trend Expert to curate a list as quirky, interesting and unique as the Yelp Community itself. If a business with multiple locations appears more than once on the list, we keep the highest ranked location.
